Aburi Botanic Gardens, opening hours from 08.30 (8) - 17.00 (4.30), daily from Monday - Sunday. Aburi town - Just a 35 min drive from Accra - capital city of the Republic of Ghana (West Africa).
Aburi and Aburi Gardens are within the best places to visit when travelling to Ghana. Interesting history, nice Town and friendly people. You may like to stay at the Aburi Garden Hotel, an old colonial building, with charm. (located within the Gardens)

Use Aburi as start point and discover  other towns and villages. Visit also Somania (Krobo area) - famous for the Krobo festivals. Koforidua; just 1 hour drive - offers friendly people, many tourist places like water falls and a old railway station. Akwaaba! Welcome! to Ghana!
The attractiveness of Aburi to adventure tourist has been greatly enhanced recently with rental bicycle for tours on the mountain.
There are marked out three self-guided mountain bike trails of 2 to 3 hours duration in the vicinity of Aburi, as well as a network of guided trails of up to five days in duration.

The appeal of Aburi, particularly the Aburi Botanical Gardens, has recently increased for adventure tourists, thanks to the availability of rental bicycles for mountain tours. There are three marked self-guided mountain bike trails in the Aburi area, each lasting 2 to 3 hours, as well as a network of guided trails that can extend up to five days.


Additionally, visitors need not worry about accommodation and dining options, as there are plenty of restaurants and places to stay in the vicinity.

The unique beauty of this garden stem from its , relieving Climate and the lushly scenic setting. Its serenity makes it an ideal place for the everybody.
It is also an excellent place for picnic activities.

Butterfly and bird lovers would love Aburi Gardens for the presence of many species of butterflies and birds. Another beautiful thing about Aburi Botanic Garden is the mixture of indigenous and exotic trees of global importance and medicinal properties.

  • Guided Tours available -The knowledgeable guides do well to educate visitors, about the origin, age and medicinal properties of most of the plants in  the Aburi

    Entrance Fees - At the entrance to the garden, you have to pay a gate fee.
    Photo & Video - Photography is free. (private). If you would like to use a video camera, there are different fees to pay, depending on use. The palm walk is an avenue of elegant palm (Roystonea regia) of about 274 meters long stretching from the main entrance of the garden to the car park.
    Accommodation - Within Aburi Botanic Gardens, there is an old colonial style hotel.
