🌿 Historic Succession of Adontenhene / Aburihene Since the Founding of Akuapem (c. 1733)

Since the establishment of the Akuapem State under Nana Safori in 1733, the following chiefs have served as Adontenhene/Aburihene:

- Offei Agyeman
- Okwaning Bediako
- Ntow ne Hempong
- Pobi Asense
- Opei Dade
- Osae Ntifo (visited by Paul Isert in 1786)
- Obuobi Nkwanin
- Otwe Kwasi
- Kwaw Afum Bosomprah I
- Kwadwo Mensah (ruled circa 1886)
- Osae Mensah I (from 1918)
- Ansah Bosomprah (from 1925)
- Osae Djan I (from 1928)
- Osae Ntifo Ababio (from 1975)

In 1959, the Adonten Divisional Council instituted a rotational system among three ruling houses:

- Awo-Agyaa House of Agyamanti
- Amene House of Fotobi
- Aku Badu House of Nsakye

Under this arrangement, appointments to the stool of Aburihene rotate among these houses.
